Agreement to these terms
By reading, browsing or otherwise using nigerianbrunch.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
We may update these terms as the publication changes. The version published here is always the one in force, and the date at the top tells you when it last moved. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are between you and Nigerian Brunch Media Group, publisher of Nigerian Brunch.
Our content and your use of it
Everything we publish, the articles, headlines, photography, illustration, page design, code and the Nigerian Brunch name and marks, is owned by us or licensed to us and protected by copyright and trademark law.
You are welcome to read our work, to link to it freely, and to quote short extracts for review, criticism, comment or news reporting with clear attribution and a link back to the original article.
You may not republish our articles in full, sell or sublicense our content, remove bylines or credits, present our work as your own, or use it to train machine learning models without our written permission.
Automated scraping and bulk harvesting of this site is not permitted. If you want a feed, we publish an RSS feed for exactly that purpose, and if you want a licence, write to partnerships@nigerianbrunch.com and we will talk.
Your content
If you send us a story tip, letter, photograph or any other material, you confirm that it is yours to send and that sharing it does not breach anyone else rights or any confidence you are legally bound by.
By sending it, you grant us a non exclusive, royalty free licence to publish, edit for length and clarity, and archive that material as part of our journalism. You keep ownership of your work.
We may decline to publish anything, and we may remove material we have published, without giving a reason.
Acceptable use
Do not use this site to break the law, to harass or defame anyone, to distribute malware, or to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or anyone else data.
Do not interfere with the normal operation of the site, whether by automated request flooding, circumventing security or technical measures, or misrepresenting your identity to obtain access.
We may restrict or withdraw access to anyone who breaches these terms, without notice where the breach is serious.
Accuracy and editorial position
We work hard to publish accurate journalism, and our editorial standards set out how. Even so, news is written at speed and against incomplete information, and we do not warrant that every article is free from error at every moment.
Where we get something wrong we correct it under our published corrections policy. If you spot an error, write to editor@nigerianbrunch.com.
Nothing on this site is financial, legal, medical or professional advice. Analysis and opinion pieces reflect the view of their author, not a recommendation to you.
Advertising and third party links
This site carries advertising, including advertising served by Google AdSense and other partners. Commercial content is labelled, and advertisers have no influence over our editorial coverage.
We link out to other websites where it helps the story. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content, their accuracy or their privacy practices. Following an external link is at your own discretion.
A product or service appearing in an advertisement on this site is not an endorsement by our newsroom.
Availability and liability
We aim to keep the site running around the clock, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, outages and factors outside our control happen.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or any loss arising from reliance on the content of this site.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in force.
